Quebec Tourist Attraction: Perce Rock
The town of Perce is located on the Gaspe Peninsula on Quebec’s easternmost coast. This area is called Land’s End and is the region’s fishing and fish processing center. Most of the tourist attractions in Perce are natural, and the most popular stop is Perce Rock – a spectacular rock rising from the sea. It is a 438 metre long and 88 metre high limestone block which has been carved by the sea and wind for over 350 million years. The eastern end of the rock contains fossils from millions of years ago and may be observed at low tide. Take a boat tour to Ile Bonaventure which is near Perce Rock. Observe the extensive wildlife in the area including wildflowers, wildfowl, puffins, gannets and cormorants. Other attractions include scenic trails, museums, Hôte Cousing, many souvenir shops and the Interpretation Center. Exciting recreational activities in the area include trail climbing, whale and dolphin watching, sea kayaking, scuba diving, sea fishing, and minibus tours!
