BC Place Stadium

BC Place - Vancouver's Stadium

The Original BC Place Stadium was the world’s largest air-supported domed stadium, and can hold up to 60,000 people! The roof was made of fiberglass and Teflon, and is said to be stronger that steel. The stadium hosted sports games, tournaments, concerts and shows, and is located in Vancouver’s Entertainment District – walking distance from hotels, theatres, transit, parking, and clubs. The Stadium also hosts trade shows such as the Pacific International Auto Show, B.C. Home and Garden Show, Spring and Fall Gift Shows, the Boat Show, and more!

BC Place will reopen in the summer of 2011. During construction, regular BC Place events will be temporarily moving to other venues in Vancouver.

Revealing over 7500 square metres of clear blue sky, the new retractable roof will turn BC Place into an all year-round, open-air facility and a new structural signature for our province.

The cable-supported roof will be the biggest of its kind in the world and will allow the stadium to hold summer festivals in the sun, football games under the stars, and indoor exhibitions protected from the rain. The transformation of the roof takes just 20 minutes.
