Nova Scotia Attractions

Peggy’s Cove is located 43 kilometers west of Halifax in Nova Scotia, and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Canada! The provincial government has designated the small community as a preservation area, which protects it from any commercial development. This in turn preserves the area’s rustic appeal. Peggy’s Cove features bare granite landscapes, wave washed boulders, brightly painted homes, and a narrow ocean inlet centered around a historical lighthouse (now used as a post office). Tourists and artists alike flock to this area because of its beauty and rural appeal. St John’s Anglican Church is one of the main attractions because it contains two murals by the famed marine artist William deGarthe. The murals took him 10 years to complete and stand as a monument to Canadian fisherman.
