The first Mace is stored at the Alberta legislative building. The Mace is an instrument that dates back to medieval times when it was a weapon. This club, which is often iron-tipped or spiked, was carried into battle by martial bishops who were forbidden to use swords or other blood-letting arms.
The Magic Spot is also part of the tour. The Magic Spot was discovered in the 1960’s by a maintenance worker replacing a burnt-out light bulb.
This sonic phenomenon emanates from the fountain in the rotunda which is three floors below. The sound travels up the grand staircase on the south side of the building, and bounces off the internal dome.
